Taking small bites and chewing well helps the digestion and so it is with being a Christian. There will come a time in your life when you realize you need Jesus. The Holy Spirit may convict you of a Sin or there is a crisis in your life that you can’t cope with. I really hope that you have not met, in your life, these “religious types of people” that have given you a bad view of what Christianity is all about and in turn slanted your views of us. Christianity is about an important personal relationship that you have with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity of God), and is not about giving money to a church so you can be healed or not even giving money to a church pastor so he can live in a million-dollar mansion, that’s criminal, not even religious. I don’t mean to be judgmental here, but I’ve seen both sides of the coin, there are those in it for what they can get out of it and there are those truly beautiful Christians. Unfortunately, sometimes the latter get duped by the crooks, just like out in the world. The crooks though are “dressed in Sheep’s Clothing” and appear to be Pastors seem to have been able to build their castles on this earth …mmmm I wonder who they are minions of.
The other side of this are the Christian churches. If Christian Churches all believed the same thing and they agreed with the Bible, then that would be great. Unfortunately, (seems to be my favourite word) each Christian church does not believe the Bible the same way other than of course, most of the protestant churches broke away from the Catholic church or other Protestant churches at one time in their creation… Baptists, Lutheran, Pentecostal, Seventh-day Adventist, Anglican, etc. Hence the reason why we have so many different churches believing in Jesus, with each church believing that they are the ones with the truth and all the others are wrong or misguided. You can imagine the chaos when we get to heaven… lol. Well I don’t look at it that way. I don’t figure you’re going to heaven based on what church you go to or not. You’re going to heaven based on your relationship to God, whether you strived to be perfect, strived to not sin and strived to Love your neighbour and your enemy as yourself, plus you strived to follow the 10 Commandments. Notice I said STRIVE. If you fall short, ask God for forgiveness and strive again. You need to actually try to not sin, especially if there’s one particular sin you seem to always do. Ask the Holy Spirit for help as he’s always with you to stay on track. God knows we aren’t perfect, but Jesus was and with the Holy Spirit on our team, how can we fail?
To seek God, take baby steps, pray to God, the Holy Spirit will guide you. If you “Google it” you’ll likely be getting advice from Satan. Pick up a Bible or use the online one linked on my home page. If you have a good friend that goes to church, ask to go with them. If you are uncomfortable there, look for another church…email me, I know of some different churches. Most churches take a Tithe for upkeep of the church and some churches have to pay the Pastors wages, if it’s a small church, that’s a normal request and actually it’s biblical to give a 10th of your earnings to God. Guests can give what they like it’s up to them. When healing is done in church it should be done as Jesus did it, no big show, no big event, it was done quietly and humbly. He charged nothing for the service, he was our example as how we should treat our fellow man. God be with you.
